It is 2680, and war rages on a galactic scale. After almost a decade on the offensive against the vile alien Scourge, the United Colonies of Mankind are battle-scarred but unbroken. Its Reconquest, a grand endeavour to reclaim its heartlands and Earth itself, hangs in the balance. A mighty new generation of utilitarian warships and vengeful soldiers rush to the frontlines, but the UCM’s alliances with other human factions are crumbling, the parasites are fighting back viciously, and a previously unknown threat has emerged.
The Bioficers—ancient, corrupted artificial intelligences—have observed mankind’s aptitude for cataclysmic violence, and it pleases them. Biology is their clay. They can vaporise it, ingest it, and shape it. Their bio-drones are woven in minutes and might be any shape that nightmares can conjure. Their ships are uniquely advanced, focused, and utterly lethal. They have no grand strategy and no goal besides revelling in war and the slow suffering of capable prey. They are a factor apart and may be the greatest threat sentient life has ever faced.
Dropzone Commander is a game of mass battle combat in the far future. Speed is key in these warzones, with forces using dropships to quickly redeploy tanks, infantry, and colossal war machines.
Seizing ground and objectives wins games, but a fierce tactical acumen is needed to act and react to your opponents’ moves. Predicting the flow of battle and positioning all manner of advanced vehicles and creatures is key to victory, to make sure that the Dropzone is yours.
This box contains everything that two players will need to start playing lightning-fast games of Dropzone Commander. The two opposing forces of UCM and Bioficers have a range of plastic miniatures to clash on your tabletop!
Each army is led by a commander in their own personal vehicle, able to take control of the battle. A 68-page rulebook provides the latest edition of the game rules as well as scenarios to get you playing.
